Description

The wine: The Friesland Berg & See Chenin Blanc is a classy, full-bodied and fresh wine, fruit driven, dry and well balanced… and celebrates the glorious Stellenbosch hills and ocean’s proximity. The grapes for this wine came from mostly a bush vine single vineyard planted in 1982 at high altitude of around 1,000m above sea level.

90% of the wine was matured in 2^nd fill French Marsannay 300L oak barrels for 6 months, and also spent 4 months on the lees; the rest is unwooded. The wine has a bright straw colour with a green tinge and features beautiful varietal summer fruit characteristics of lemon, melon and pear, and takes on notes of apricot and honey when aged.
